Refund Policy

Cancellations, our money-back window, and how refunds are processed across plans and sessions.

This page explains our general practices in plain language for learners in India and Canada. It is a general policy, not individual legal advice — for questions specific to your situation, reach us at support@niodbp.com.

1. Overview

This Refund Policy explains when and how you can cancel a plan and request a refund for Unify, operated by Nio DBP. It applies together with our Terms of Service. We want the Service to be worth your money — if something is not working for you, contact us at support@niodbp.com before or after you cancel and we will do our best to help.

2. Free placement and trials

Your initial placement test and any free trial period are provided at no charge, and no refund is needed. If a plan includes a free trial, you will not be charged until the trial ends; you can cancel any time before then to avoid a charge.

3. Money-back window

For your first paid subscription, if you are not satisfied you may request a full refund within 7 days of the initial charge, provided you have used only a limited amount of the Service (for example, you have not completed most of a monthly allotment of live classes or gradings).

This window applies once per customer and does not apply to renewals or to repeat purchases of the same plan.

4. Monthly subscriptions

You can cancel a recurring subscription at any time from your account settings.

  • Cancellation stops future renewals. You keep access until the end of the billing period you already paid for.
  • Outside the money-back window, we generally do not provide partial refunds for the unused part of a billing period, unless required by law.
  • If you were charged after cancelling, or charged in error, contact us and we will investigate and refund a mistaken charge.

5. One-time and intensive packages

Fixed-term intensive packages (for example, a multi-week exam sprint) are one-time purchases. You may request a full refund within 7 days of purchase if the package has not yet started and you have not used any included one-on-one sessions. Once the package has started or a private session has been used, we may provide a pro-rated refund for the unused portion at our discretion.

6. Live classes and one-on-one sessions

Live sessions depend on a teacher’s reserved time, so scheduling rules apply:

  • You can reschedule or cancel a booked session up to 24 hours before it starts at no cost.
  • Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed without notice, may be counted as used.
  • If a teacher cancels or a session cannot be delivered due to a fault on our side, you will be offered a reschedule or a credit.

7. Official exam fees

Unify sells preparation, not the exams themselves. Fees you pay directly to an official exam provider (such as IELTS, CELPIP, PTE, TEF, TCF, or DELF administrators) are separate from your Unify plan and are subject to that provider’s own refund rules. We cannot refund official exam fees.

8. How to request a refund

Email support@niodbp.com from the address on your account and include:

  • Your account email and the plan or package involved.
  • The date and amount of the charge.
  • A brief reason for the request.

We aim to acknowledge refund requests within 2 business days.

9. Processing time and method

Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method. Once processed, it typically takes 5–10 business days for the amount to appear, depending on your bank or payment provider. Refunds are made in the currency of the original charge (CAD or INR); we are not responsible for exchange-rate differences or bank fees applied by your provider.

10. Taxes

Where a refund is issued, any applicable taxes collected on the original transaction are refunded together with the eligible amount, in line with the tax rules of your region.

11. Chargebacks

If you believe you were charged incorrectly, please contact us first — we can usually resolve it faster than a bank dispute. Filing a chargeback without contacting us may lead to suspension of your account while the dispute is reviewed.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Changes apply to purchases made after the “Last updated” date shown above and do not reduce refund rights you have already earned for an existing purchase.
